Angela Blažanović is a visual artist based in London, UK. She graduated from BA (Hons) Photography from London Metropolitan University in 2019. Through a performative approach between photography and sculpture the artist investigates the symbiotic relationship between human and landscape. The overlooked & discarded, traces of human presence and the attachment to landscapes are central themes in Blažanović practise.

In her current work Fragments of a River Blažanović creates compositions of found objects from the bed of the River Thames at low tide. Drawing on the aesthetics of Dutch still life paintings the artist transforms discarded objects into fragile compositions, highlighting the beauty that lies within.

Recent Shows include; ‘Nikon Emerging Photographer of the Year Award Exhibition’, Photo London, Somerset House, London; ‘Jetsam’, a two-person exhibition, Sid Motion Gallery, London; ‘2020 Capture Public Art Project’, King Edward Station, Vancouver, Canada; ‘Free Range 2019’, Old Truman Brewery, London; ‘Cream 2019’, University of Brighton; ‘Unsigned’, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, London. In 2020, Blažanović was shortlisted for the Photo London Emerging Photographer of the Year Award and in 2019 she was announced the winner of the Free Range 2019 & Metro Imaging Award and the Owen Rowley Prize. Blažanović’s work has been reproduced in print in Fresh Eyes 2021, The FT Weekend, Wallpaper* Magazine, Uncertain States, and has been written about online in Port Magazine, The Guardian, Booooooom, ShowStudio and Elephant Magazine.
